THOTCON is run by THOTCON Infinity NFP, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are hackers. We collect as little as we can get away with, and we do not sell anything about you to anyone.
This page describes what happens on this website and in the systems we use to run the conference.

───────────── THIS WEBSITE ─────────────
This site is static. It runs no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising network, and no third-party scripts of any kind. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not know who you are when you read these pages.
The site is served through Cloudflare, our hosting and CDN provider. Cloudflare processes request data such as your IP address to serve pages and protect the site, and may set its own security cookies. See Cloudflare's privacy documentation for what they do with it.
The only thing this site stores in your browser is a Tetris high score, kept in your browser's local storage by the easter egg. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it.

WHEN YOU CONTACT US
──────────────────────────────
───────── WHEN YOU CONTACT US ──────────
If you email info@thotcon.org, cfp@thotcon.org or sponsors@thotcon.org, that mail is handled in Google Workspace. We keep what you send us so we can answer it and run the event.
─────────────────────────────────
MAILING LIST
─────────────────────────────────
───────────── MAILING LIST ─────────────
The mailing list signup submits your email address to Mailchimp, which hosts the list for us. We use it to announce dates, ticket sales and the call for papers. Every message includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

TICKETS, TALKS AND THE STORE
─────────────────────────
───── TICKETS, TALKS AND THE STORE ─────
Tickets are sold through a third-party ticketing provider, talk submissions go through our CFP system at cfp.thotcon.org, and the store runs on Shopify. When you use one of those, you are giving your information to that provider under their privacy policy as well as ours, and we receive what they pass on to us so we can run registration, review submissions, or ship an order.
During registration we ask whether you want your details shared with that year's sponsors. That sharing is opt-in. If you do not opt in, we do not include you.

WHAT WE DO NOT DO
───────────────────────────────
────────── WHAT WE DO NOT DO ───────────
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
- We do not track you across other websites.
- We do not record or broadcast talks, so speakers can present freely.
- We do not publish the venue in advance; it is disclosed to attendees and speakers the week before the event.
